I don't get stressed out very much in my life, but this is one of those times. Unfortunately, after the decision to go into the office, I had to make a whole bunch of other life-changing decisions.
Here are my plans for the next few months:
April 1-7, NYC
April 18, fly to BWI to begin work in corporate office on 4/19
May 7, fly to IND to meet up with my friend Amanda for vacation
May 8-15(overnight flight back), VEGAS!
May 16, pack up UHAUL and drive to Maryland with some buddies from high school that offered to help me out (Thank goodness, because I was going to have to drive the UHAUL with my Jeep on a trailer behind it all by myself...not my idea of a safe situation!)
That may not sound like a lot, but if you take a minute and think about how much money all of that costs, it's a little overwhelming for someone who wasn't prepared. Also - I have from April 18-May 7 to find a place, sign a lease and get the key. I'm really hoping everything works out. It's SO expensive to live there, but the only way to find out if I can do it is to try it!
I know this is the right thing to do, and I knew I would regret NOT taking the position. I'm going to miss Indiana so much. It is one of my favorite places in the world. But, I'm excited to be given a chance to start over. Only time will tell if I made the right decision or not.
:)
It was interesting - my last trip to NYC. It was my first trip back from being gone for so long. And, it was a little bittersweet, because it is also close to the last trip I'll take for work. There were several of us working in New York at the same time, so I got to see my friend Jeff and hang out with some others too! THE COOLEST THING EVER though, was who I met at an Irish Pub. I don't have any clue where we even were....Broadway and 53rd, maybe??? Anyway - I was with a group of people, playing darts and I had a Ball State sweatshirt on (the one I always wear....I wear nothing else, actually, let's be honest.) This really tall guy came up to me and asked me if I went to Ball State. I said, "No, but I grew up around there". He replied by saying, "OMIGOD - I went there!" HAHAHA. Awesome. Robyn and Daniel were from Anderson and I left my little group of buddies to hang out with them for a little while. We hung out at the bar and talked for a long time! It was so cool to meet someone from "home". I wish I would've thought to take a picture with them. If I remember correctly, I told them to check this blog, because I knew I'd write about them. If you guys are reading - so sorry it took me so long!! Hope you had a great trip and arrived safely at home.
Here are some good pictures from that NYC visit...it was rainy and nasty, but we had fun.
