Update....

Hey all - so sorry I haven't written in a really long time. I've had a pretty rough couple of months. Since I went to Alabama - it's been pretty much downhill from there. Someone told me the other day that it's about time I got happy, because Lindy is always happy! I agree....so I'm working on it.

Unfortunately, I haven't uploaded any pictures in a while and I'm going to try and relax this weekend to recover from a pretty bad cold. I'm out of town again on Sunday morning, traveling back to Newport Beach. I'll have some time to do some blogging while I'm out there.

Hope you are all doing well............. later gators.

Just an update...

Shew! Okay, I think I'm in a mood to write. To be honest folks, I haven't been able to feel good about posting anything for awhile. I've been a little down lately, if you couldn't tell from my last post! You know the old saying, "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all"? It's kind of like that.
Hahahaha - yes, I put this horrible picture of myself on here! This picture just sort of "happened" the other night, and I think it's hilarious! One eye is droopy and I look like I'm 40. This picture sums it up pretty well, I guess!!

Atmore, Alabama was an adventure though. We were working in a casino, which is a bit of a change of pace. But really neat. No one in the hotel had ANY experience in hotels though - and that's a struggle. But everyone was very nice and sweet. They finally moved us from the Day's Inn in Bay Minette (30 minutes away) to a little Bed and Breakfast. It was like a little mini-farm...very cool. The owner was THE NICEST GUY in the world! I didn't get to see him much, as I was working about 12 hours a day, but he was great everytime I ran into him. He had tons of peacocks, guinea hens, cattle, geese and he had a donkey! The peacocks were always threatening the other animals with their feathers out, the guinea hens and the geese were always yelling at each other and the little donkey was always so sad. He got out of his "area" and ended up getting hit on the highway! Totalled the car, but the donkey walked away with a limp. Wow.AND - we saw this lady driving around with the hood of her car being held on with hitch straps. Awesome. (I think she was waving at us.)

I left Atmore, Alabama on Monday and flew to Baltimore (Annapolis) to visit my brother and his family. That was nice, but it was too short... I had to shop a lot to try and replace a lot of my wardrobe problems (including the hole-y socks you see to the right)! Trust me, you can't find a size 12 W women's shoes anywhere in that area...so I'm wearing really girly Man Shoes. Awesome. Had to leave Baltimore earlier than anticipated, because the next place decided they wanted to start earlier. So, I left my brother's place at about 4 am, got on a flight at 6:30a and was on my way to Long Beach, CA. On our decent into LA, my nose and head (like Sinus pressure or something) started POUNDING. Very weird. I fly a lot and have never experienced anything quite like that. I kept checking my nose, as I thought it might be bleeding. It was fine, just a lot of intense pain. Once we landed, the intense pain went away - but my nose/head still hurt a little every once in awhile. It could just be that it's been raining since I got here...storms screw with my head sometimes. Might need to catch up with my doctor next time I get a minute at home. Hopefully it's not a brain tumor or anything crazy. Has anyone ever experienced anything like that?!

So - I'm here in Long Beach at a little hotel that looks at downtown Long Beach (on the same side of the Queen Mary - in the QueensWay Bay). Very cool. The hotel is under renovation, and I'm working at night...so it's a bit of a struggle to sleep during the day. I will post a video of what happens during the day, as soon as I get a good enough internet connection. It's pretty hilarious!

This site is a bit easier than we're all used to. As I mentioned, they are renovating, so there's not a lot to do - they only have a few guests in and their all comp rooms. Not much for the night auditors!! But, it's great, because I can manage to get some sleep from about 4a - 9a. I didn't realize how large Long Beach is, but it's pretty nice.... it's big, but it feels small.

I will leave for the airport at about 4 am tomorrow morning and fly all day...then I'm home on Tuesday and Wednesday (my birthday), I'm off to French Lick for the week. It will be refreshing to work in my own state for a change. Maybe I'll actually drive my NEW CAR!! Doubt it! I want the rental car points!

More later guys...promise. Sorry it took so long, Jeff!

No Point Post..but thanks for listening

Yes, this post has no real point... other than to say, "Sorry I haven't written. I've had a horrible week and tend to regress into a turtle shell when things don't go the way I want them to."

Here are some bullet points showing the crazy things that have happened this week:

* Every single day of this trip to Atmore, Alabama, I have had some sort of wardrobe issue. I'll list them: 1.) My favorite shoes in the world, the shoes I wear with most of my suits, have decided to completely bomb on me this week. the bottom and top of the inside are completely worn through and with gel insoles cause blisters. MASSIVE blisters. 2.) I was staying at the Day's Inn 30 minutes away from the casino I'm working at. The iron had something on the bottom of it as I went to iron my most favorite shirt. Totally ruined it... and the staff at Day's Inn kind of laughed at me, like I didn't know how to use an iron properly. 3.) I was coming out of an office fairly fast from a disturbing meeting and caught the hem of my pants (that I wear CONSTANTLY, and are the only black pants I travel with) on the bottom of the door, unraveling the hem. So - I stapled the pants back together for fear of slipping on the tile, because they were dragging the floor. I think a little troll snuck into my room that night, because the very next day, those same pants were HUGE!! And, I know I haven't lost any weight here in the "deep fried south". 4.) Two buttons on my favorite suit fell off the minute I put it over my shoulders. Luckily, we had moved closer to the casino and are staying in a bed & breakfast, with a very handy landlord. Safety pins are scarce unless you're at a bed & breakfast! 5.) Over the course of a week, I've worn through three pair of socks. Worn straight through them...

* I have probably ruined a relationship that never really started anyway. Now, how exactly is THAT possible?! And, I'm the type of person that just gets over it.......... this one is a bit of a challenge.

* It took me 4 weeks to read the third book of the Twilight series... I finally finished it this week. Normally, now-a-days, I read a book a week.

* I miss just about everything there is to miss, but have no idea why.......... I've come to another point in my life where I need to do some "self-checking".

Thanks for listening....... Next time won't be such a downer!!
